Small Coins, Big Impact: A 50-Cent Challenge for Mental Health + Rebuilding a Life
Fundraiser created few hours ago
Adriana Green is the organizer of this fundraiser.
100,000 people.
50 cents each.
One life rebuilt — and real funding for BPD + Bipolar research at CAMH.
And if we hit the goal?
I will do a full polar dip into Lake Ontario as a symbol of courage, transformation, and survival.
My name is Adriana, and I live with Borderline Personality Disorder.
For years, BPD has cost me jobs, relationships, stability, and the life I imagined for myself.
I’ve had to rebuild from rock bottom more than once — and I’m doing it again now.
But this time, I don’t want to do it alone.
I’m launching Small Coins, Big Impact to prove something powerful:
💛 Small contributions can create massive collective change.
💛 People with BPD deserve support, hope, and community.
💛 Healing is not something we do quietly or in the dark.
This fundraiser has two purposes, each equally important:
Specifically for research into:
Borderline Personality Disorder
Bipolar Disorder
These two illnesses devastate lives — including my own — yet remain heavily stigmatized and underfunded.
I want to give back to the science and research that can save people like me.
Living with BPD is often a cycle of loss and rebuilding.
Right now, I’m starting over from scratch — financially, emotionally, practically.
The remaining funds will help me:
buy a reliable car
pay essential bills
stabilize my life
pursue training and education
build advocacy projects so I can give back long-term
I’m asking for my community’s support because healing is not linear, and it’s not free.
And because asking for help — openly, publicly — is part of my recovery.
If this fundraiser reaches its full goal of $50,000 CAD —
I will plunge into the freezing waters of Lake Ontario.
Why?
Because cold water shocks the system the way mental illness shocks your life.
Because immersion into something terrifying mirrors the courage required to heal.
Because coming out of the water — gasping, alive, trembling — symbolizes survival.
And because everyone who donated becomes part of that moment.
This will be filmed publicly, at a communal lakeside space, so the whole community can witness the final act of transformation.
Because almost anyone can give 50 cents.
Because I don’t want a few big donors — I want a collective movement.
Because I want 100,000 people to say:
“I believe in recovery. I believe in mental health research. I believe Adriana deserves a future.”
Small coins.
Big impact.
If you have 50 cents, you can change a life.
If we all give a little, we create something massive.
If this reaches you, I’m asking:
💛 Donate 0.50¢
💛 Share this with 5 people
💛 Help build something bigger than all of us
Together, we can fund mental health research.
Together, we can help someone rebuild.
Together, we can create a wave strong enough to carry 100,000 tiny coins into one enormous impact.
