Raniia Salah is the organizer of this fundraiser.

My name is Raniia. I’m 28, from Cairo, and I have one dream I’ve carried for 11 years: to study Computer Science in Germany.

For years, life kept pushing me away — wrong major, family responsibilities, low salary, exhaustion. But a few months ago I decided: before I turn 30 in 2028, I will be in Germany. No more excuses.

My absolute dream is the Software, Data & Technology (SDT) program at Constructor University with the JetBrains Scholarship — one of the hardest scholarships in the world for international students. Only a handful of people get it every year. I haven’t applied yet (I’m starting preparation now), but I’m giving it everything I have.

Here’s the reality:

If I win the scholarship → tuition + dorm + food for 3 years are covered. I’ll still need some help for summers and personal expenses, but the biggest hurdle will be gone.

If I don’t get it (and the chances are really small) → I will NOT give up. I will apply to public German universities (TU Berlin, RWTH Aachen, etc.) that cost almost nothing… but to even submit the application and get the student visa, the German embassy requires €12,340 in a blocked account.

I have already paid myself for passport, translations, exams, everything I could.

But on an Egyptian salary, saving €12,340 before 2028 feels impossible — no matter how many extra hours I work.

So I’m asking for one thing only:

€12,340 for the blocked account

(a little extra €1,500–2,000 for flight + laptop + first month until I settle)

This money is my Plan B.

It’s the guarantee that I board that plane in 2028 — scholarship or no scholarship.

I’m not asking anyone to make my dream come true for me.

I’m asking you to make sure that even if the toughest door closes, another one stays open.

If by some miracle I get the JetBrains scholarship and don’t need the full blocked account, I will immediately refund every euro that isn’t required. I promise that publicly and in writing.

I’ve waited 11 years. Please don’t let money be the reason I wait any longer.

Even $5 or sharing this page brings me closer to the life I was supposed to live a long time ago.

I will update you every single step — from the first application until the day I land in Germany, inshallah.

Thank you for believing that 28 is not too late.
